FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #8 Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team hosted (RV) Taylor University on Wednesday night where the Warriors dominated the Trojans in a 24-8 victory.
Tech would open the game on a 4-0 run before Taylor could get on the board with a pair of goals midway through the first quarter. The Warriors would then start to pile on the goals, going on a 9-0 run in the second quarter to build a 15-4 halftime lead. Tech would use another 5-0 run in the third quarter to further the distance between the two sides, now leading 22-6 heading into the final frame. Both teams added two goals in the fourth in a somewhat calm period as the Warriors tripled the score on the visitors, winning 24-8.
Cam Fewster was a man on fire in this matchup, scoring a career high 14 points, stemming from five goals and a career high nine assists.
Reice Hafl also had a big day offensively with two goals and five assists, resulting in seven total points. Both players also had four ground balls.
Simon Watson and
Maddox Schwartz led Tech with five ground balls each, while Jacob Meyers led the Warriors with three caused turnovers.
Sam Park picked up the win in goal, playing 45 minutes and making eight saves.
Carl Drumgoole played the fourth quarter in goal for the Warriors and made three saves.
The Warriors improve to 7-5 overall and 5-2 in WHAC play. They will be on the road next time out as they get set to face Siena Heights University on Saturday, April 11
th at 1pm in Adrian, Michigan.
