Warriors Split Road Doubleheader at Lourdes

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Indiana Tech split a WHAC doubleheader on the road against Lourdes on April 8, taking game one in dominant fashion before falling in a late-game battle in game two.
In the opener, the Warriors controlled the game from start to finish in a 6-1 victory. Indiana Tech struck early in the first inning as Carlye Walter delivered a two-RBI double to give the Warriors a quick 2-0 lead. Walter continued her standout performance at the plate, launching a two-run home run in the fifth to extend the advantage.
Kaelie Kugler added an RBI double in the sixth, while the Warriors capitalized on a Lourdes error in the seventh to round out the scoring. In the circle, Savannah Bravo was nearly untouchable, tossing a complete game while allowing just one hit through six innings and finishing with 10 strikeouts in a dominant outing.
Game two told a different story, as Indiana Tech jumped out early but couldn't hold off a late Lourdes surge, falling 6-4. The Warriors built a 2-0 lead behind RBI efforts from Haylee Pruitt and Melissa Cabrera, and extended it to 3-1 in the sixth on a Morgan Macek double.
After Lourdes tied the game in the bottom of the sixth, Indiana Tech responded in the seventh with an RBI from Allie Dolenc to reclaim a 4-3 lead. However, Lourdes answered in the bottom half with a three-run home run to walk it off and secure the split.
Indiana Tech finished the day with strong offensive production, recording 18 total hits across the two games, while continuing to show flashes of dominance both at the plate and in the circle. The split reflects the Warriors' ability to control games when executing, while emphasizing the importance of closing out tight contests as conference play continues.
