Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. – A 14-point second half doomed the Indiana Tech men's basketball team in a 77-46 loss to No. 13 Davenport on Saturday night at the Schaefer Center.

The Warriors (11-7, 6-4) played well in the first half, especially in the early going as Tanner Watkins opened the game with a three and Parker Stouffer followed that with a layup to give Tech the 5-0 lead. After trading several baskets and tying twice, the took the lead for good at the 10:37 mark with two free throws from Fort Wayne native Nick Gamble. His free throws sparked a 6-0 run to give DU the six-point, 23-17 lead. John Cooksey stopped the bleeding with a layup at 9:22 and the Warriors got to within two points on a Rontray Chavis jumper with 4:03 left in the half, down 31-29. Davenport closed the half on a 9-3 run to take a seven point, 39-32, lead into the break.

Both teams scored 16 points in the paint but the Panthers dominated in fast break points, 10-2 and points off turnovers, turning six Tech miscues into 10 points compared to just two for the Warriors. Tech finished the half 13-for-29 (44.8%) from the floor including a 3-for-10 (30%) mark from behind the three-point arc and a 3-for-4 (75%) mark from the free throw line, however, Davenport was 15-for-26 (57.7%) from the field while going 5-for-11 (45.5%) from behind the arc and 4-for-6 (66.7%) from the charity stripe.

What started out as a promising game turned ugly quick as DU pounced in the second half, opening the period on an 11-0 run to stretch the lead to 18 points, 50-32, with 16:55 to play. The Panthers dominated the half, outscoring Tech 38-14 in the frame including a 20-2 mark in the paint, 11-4 in points off turnovers and 8-0 in fast break points.

The Orange and Black shot just 19 percent (4-for-21) in the half including an 0-for-6 mark from three and a 5-for-15 (33.3%) performance at the line, meanwhile, Davenport was 15-for-28 (53.65) in the half going 4-for-7 (57.1%) from deep and 4-for-6 (66.7%) from the charity stripe.

Jeff Hoskins finished with 15 points while Chavis added 10 for the Warriors. JaVonte Ford led all scorers for the Panthers with 18 points while Gamble finished with 17 off the bench.

The Warriors return to the court on Wednesday, Jan. 15 when they travel to Livonia, Mich. to face Madonna at 7:30 p.m.
