Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The Indiana Tech women's soccer team snapped its two game losing streak in a big way on Wednesday night, defeating Marygrove 8-0 at Warrior Field. With the win the Warriors improve to 6-6-1 overall and 1-3 in the WHAC while Marygrove falls to 3-10 on the season and 0-4 in conference action.

It was a tough start for both teams with neither able to keep possession of the ball in the first 10 minutes of the match. That was until the 18:13 mark, when Austin Wilson sent the ball in from a corner kick and after many deflections it found the foot of Tori Singstock who was finally able to capitalize on the Warriors 10th shot of the match.

The Warriors played a very tight possession game with their 1-0 lead in the first half, until the 39th minute. Jessica Trimmer was able to beat the Warriors flat four, but Jordan Roell came out of the six-yard box to deny her an angle on goal, forcing the shot wide.

Tech took the 1-0 lead into the break, outshooting Marygrove by nine, 13-4, including a 9-3 margin in shots on frame. Roell had three saves while Marygrove's goalkeeper Rachel Gilmore had seven.

The second half was a different story as Tech tallied seven goals to seal the win. At the 34:50 mark, Singstock scored her second goal of the match by beating the Mustang defender with a quick cut and ripping the ball into the upper 90.

The Warriors were unable to get by the Mustang's defense until the 66th minute of the game. Emily Swanson was able to volley the ball off a tough bounce through the middle of the field and netted the third goal of the match from 30 yards away. The Warriors extended the lead to four just three minutes later as Morgan Kroezen found Wilson on the opposite side of the field where she beat the keeper on a 1-v-1, her first goal of the season.

The Orange and Black were not done yet as defender Chelsea Rowe made a quick rundown the far side of the field shooting the ball back post and beating the keeper. Two minutes later, in the 74th minute, Kroezen again crossed the ball finding Wilson's foot and beating Gilmore on the back side for a 6-0 lead. Kroezen tallied her third assist five minutes later when she sent a beautiful ball into the box, finding the head of fellow freshman, Amber Huppert for the goal. In the 87th minute Wilson was ready to help out another senior as Natalie Zimmerman bashed the ball back post after the cross with the final goal for Tech.

Roell had no troubles in the goal in the second half as the defensive line denied any opportunities the Mustangs had leaving her with only two shots and neither of them on goal. For the game the Warriors outshot Marygrove 30-6 including a 21-3 margin in shots on frame.

The Warriors return to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 12 when they host 10th ranked Davenport at 12:30 p.m. It will also be Family and Friends Day at Warrior Field.
