Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. –The Indiana Tech women's soccer team lost their WHAC opener on Saturday, falling to Aquinas, 3-2. The Saints (4-3, 1-0) spoiled senior day for the Warriors who fall to 4-3-1 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.

The Saints drew first blood in the 37th minute with a goal from Cami Baker. The Warriors were attempting to clear the ball following an Aquinas corner kick, however, the Saints kept the ball in the zone and a pass between two defenders left Baker one-v-one with Tech keeper Jordan Roell. Baker sent a ball into the upper right corner for the goal.

With just 30 seconds left before the break, the Saints were able to extend the lead as the Warriors defense failed to clear a throw-in, leading to a Khrystal Lewis goal. Lewis got the ball near the top right of the 18 and snuck the ball under the crossbar and just out of the reach of Roell for the 2-0 lead.

In the period the Saints outshot the Warriors 9-7, with a 5-3 edge in shots on goal. Both goalkeepers made three saves while Aquinas took three corner kicks in the half while Tech attempted none.

Aquinas continued to stretch their lead in the second half scoring off a set piece at the 34:02 mark in the second half. Mikayla Goldsmith sent a great service into the box from the far corner as the ball was headed by Allison VanPatten, who found the back of the net for the 3-0 lead.

The Warriors best chance came just minutes later as Tori Singstock was one-v-one with Molly O'Connor, the Saints keeper, but O'Connor made the save and the rebound went high.

Singstock didn't have to wait long for another opportunity and this time she won the matchup with O'Connor, getting Tech on the scoreboard, 3-1. Singstock took a pass from Jess Stanton and dribble half the field, beating two defenders and a third in the box, before defeating O'Connor for her sixth goal of the season.

The Orange and Black cut the lead to one, 3-2, in the 79th minute as Stanton found Natalie Zimmerman open in the box. Zimmerman then blasted the ball into the left side of the goal for her second of the season and the Warriors second for the game. It was a furious comeback by the Warriors but Tech ran out of time, falling to the Saints 3-2.
