@INTECHICE_D1 Gets Out-Chanced By KSU 3-2

Box Score KENT, Ohio – The Indiana Tech American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 Ice Hockey team went the distance with Kent State University taking a 2-2 deadlock into the third period before KSU nemesis Chance Taylor got the game's only goal of the final two periods to stake his team to a 3-2 game.

The Warriors came closer to upsetting a team that has received votes in the national top-25 poll this month but couldn't seal the deal Saturday night. It was the ninth time that Tech has faced a team either in the top-25 or one that has received votes nationally this season.

Tech twice came from behind to tie the contest in the opening frame. First, it was Cameron Dimmitt tying the game at 1-1 with assists from Michael Schmitt and Jake Henrikson midway through the first. With about two minutes left in the same period, Vaughn Clouston's power-play tally tied the game again at 2.

The Golden Flashes out-shot the Warriors, 25-20. Tech netminder Zach Larson registered 23 saves on the night and kept his team in the game.

The Division 1 team is set for a home rematch against Midland University this weekend. Tech will play Friday, Nov. 7 at 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 8 at 8:00 p.m. at the SportOne Parkview IceHouse.
