Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – It was a tale of two halves for the Indiana Tech men's basketball team as the Warriors fell to ninth-ranked Davenport, 46-67 at the DU Student Center on Saturday.

It was a hard-fought, back-and-forth first half that featured seven ties and six lead changes. They all happened in the first 11:16 of the half as the Panthers (23-5, 16-4) scored first on a Kevin Rich layup, only to have the Warriors (15-13, 10-10) tie the game with an Antwan Cathey layup 17 seconds later. A pair of Jeff Hoskins free throws gave Tech the 4-2 lead with Braima Hai tying the score again with a layup. The teams traded one-to-three point leads over the first half of the period, before a Hai three at 8:44 put DU ahead for good, 20-17. Tanner Watkins cut the lead to one, but a 13-5 run by the home team pushed the lead to nine, 33-24 with 2:28 remaining. A Rontray Chavis layup and three by John Cooksey cut the lead to four, 33-29 at the break.

The Panthers held a slight edge in the paint, 14-12, while dominating points off turnovers, 12-4 and bench points, 13-4. The Warriors did outscore DU 8-4 in second chance points and won on the glass, 13-11 while both teams shot over 50 percent in the half. Nick Lewis led the Orange and Black with seven points while Rich and Nick Gamble paced the Panthers, each scoring 11.

The home team came out on fire in the second half, scoring seven straight points to push the lead to 11, 40-29, before both teams traded threes with 17:02 left. It was all DU after that as the home team dominated the paint, outscoring Tech 24-4 inside in the second half including a 9-0 margin in points off turnover while also ruling the glass, outrebounding the Orange and Black, 24-10 in the period.

After a strong first half, the Warriors offense struggled to maintain its production, finishing the contest 18-for-46 (39.1%) from the field, 5-for-17 (29.4%) from three and 5-for-8 (62.5%) from the free throw line while Davenport shot 52 percent (26-for-50) in the game including a 6-for-16 (36.5%) mark from behind the arc. The Panthers were also 9-for-16 (56.3%) from the charity stripe.

Lewis paced the Warriors with 10 points while Cathey and Cooksey each added eight points with Cooksey leading the team with six rebounds.

Gamble finished with 15 points leading the Panthers while Rich had 14 and JaVonte Ford added 11.

The Warriors travel to Detroit, Mich. for their final regular season road contest on Wednesday, Feb. 15 as they face Marygrove at 7:30 p.m.
