Box Score LIMA, Ohio – Another monster game by Rontray Chavis was not enough as the Indiana Tech men's basketball team fell to Northwestern Ohio, 75-91 on Saturday at the Garage.

It was rough from the start for the Warriors (15-11, 10-8) as the Racers (17-7, 13-5) scored the first five points and 12 for the first 14 to take a 12-2 lead with 15:16 to play. After Tech cut the lead to eight, 20-12 at the 10:15 mark, the home team used an 8-0 run to push the lead 16, 28-12. The Orange and Black got back to within nine with 6:27 to play but a 14-5 run by the Racers again extended the lead to double figures, a first-half high of 18, 42-24 with 1:27 left in the period. A Nick Lewis free throw at the half cut the deficit to 14, 46-32 at the break.

The teams were pretty even in the paint as UNOH held a two-point, 14-12, advantage but the difference came in the points off turnovers as the Racers turned 12 Tech miscues into 15 points while the Warriors scored just eight points off nine UNOH turnovers. Chavis finished the half with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Johnny Elliott of UNOH led all scorers with 16 first half points.

It was much of the same in the second half as the home team pushed the lead to a game-high 21 points, 69-48 with 11:36 to play, but Tech didn't fold. The Warriors outscored the Racers 20-8 over the next eight minutes to cut the lead to nine, 77-68, with 3:41 to play. Unfortunately, UNOH had one more run left, outscoring the visitors, 14-7 over the final three minutes to seal the 16-point, 91-75 victory.

UNOH outscored Tech 30-18 in the paint for the contest and 27-11 in points off turnovers despite being outrebounded by the Orange and Black, 36-33. The Warriors offense wasn't an issue as Tech shot 43.4 percent (23-for-53) in the contest despite a 2-for-9 (22.2%) mark from three while finishing 27-for-36 (75%) from the charity stripe. The defense didn't hold up for Tech, though, as UNOH shot 53 percent (35-for-66) from the floor and 42.9 percent (12-for-28) from behind the arc while going 9-for-13 (69.2%) from the line.

Chavis broke 30 points and 20 rebounds for the second straight contest, finishing with 31 points and 21 boards with Lewis adding 13 points and Jeff Hoskins tallied 12.

Elliott finished with a game-high 32 points and grabbed nine boards for the Racers while three other players finished in double figures.

The Warriors return home for senior night on Wednesday, Feb. 12 when they welcome fourth-ranked Cornerstone to Kline Court for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
