Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LIVONIA, Mich. – The Indiana Tech softball team split their Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference doubleheader with Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday at Ladywood High School. The Warriors won game one, 6-3, but couldn't complete the sweep, dropping game two, 10-6.

The Warriors are 5-16 and 3-7 in the WHAC after the split while the Wolverines move to 13-21 and 2-8 in conference play.

Alli Watson got the start in the circle for Tech Head Coach Jessica Harris and earned her first win of the season, allowing just three runs on five hits over four innings, striking out two while walking three. Tori Simper pitched in relief for the Warriors, earning her first save of the season with three innings of three hit softball.

Watson also aided herself at the plate with a one-out double in the first, scoring one batter later as Juliaclare Plezbert followed with a double of her own. Plezbert moved to third on a two-out wild pitch and scored on a drop-third-strike wild pitch. The home team cut into the two run lead in the bottom of the inning, as a two-out walk followed by an RBI double to make it 2-1.

Katie Bird added to the lead in the top of the second and scored two pitches later following back-to-back wild pitches. Neither team threatened until the fourth when the Wolverines tied the score with two hits in the fame, tying the score at three.

Tech answered right back as Sophia Johantgen led off the fifth with a triple and scored on a Plezbert RBI fielder's choice. Simper worked a scored bottom of the frame and stranded two in the sixth before Tech added two more insurance runs for the 6-3 victory.

Johantgen paced the Warriors seven hit attack; finishing 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Plezbert finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

GAME 2 | IT 6, UMD 10 | BOX SCORE

Maggie McCrory made her fourth start of the season in the second game and suffered her second loss of the season allowing 10 runs, eight earned on 10 hits over six innings, striking out six and walking two.

The Warriors tallied eight hits in the loss, led by a 3-for-4 effort form Hanna Foltz who drove in three runs and scored a run. Jenevie Rivas chipped in with two runs scored.

After falling behind 2-0, Rivas led off the second with a triple and Foltz drove her in with a single to left field. A groundout moved Foltz to second and Taylor Craven doubled to left to plate Foltz and tie the score at two.

Tech added three runs in the third as Plezbert, Jessica Cotton and Rivas all walked to load the bases. Foltz delivered a one-out, two-run single to give Tech the 4-2 lead. Bailey Dembinski followed with a double to center field, scoring Rivas and extending the lead to three. Unfortunately UMD rallied in the bottom half, plating four runs on five hits and one Warrior error to take a 6-5 lead.

In the fourth, Johantgen drew a leadoff walk, moving to third on a pair of passed balls and scoring on a one-out triple from Cotton to tie the score. After a 1-2-3 bottom half, Tech hand a chance to extend the lead, but left the bases loaded in the top of the fifth.

The Wolverines didn't miss their opportunities, adding a single run in the fifth and three in the sixth for the 10-6 victory.

The Warriors return to action on Sunday, Apr. 13 when they play host to Concordia for a WHAC doubleheader with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
