Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 NEW HAVEN, Ind. – The Indiana Tech softball team split with Concordia (Mich.) in windy conditions on Sunday at Havenhurst Park. The Cardinals commanded the first game, shutting out teh Warriors 6-0, but Tech responded with a 9-1 run-rule victory in game two.

GAME ONE | IT 0, CUAA 6 | BOX SCORE

The Warriors (6-17, 4-8 WHAC) got off to a slow start, allowing three runs in the top of the first inning.

Tech's offense struggled throughout the game, tallying just four hits in the contest.

The Cardinals (21-12, 4-2) had 9 hits and took advantage of the Warriors' four errors.

Alli Watson, Jessica Cotton, Patrice Suplicki and Hannah Foltz each tallied a hit in the loss.

Starting pitcher Katie Bird fell to 0-1 as she pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed three runs, two earned on three hits. Taylor Craven pitched the remaining 6 2/3, allowing three runs, two earned on six hits.

GAME TWO | IT 9, CUAA 1 (6) | BOX SCORE

A run from Valerie Carrillo in the second gave the Cardinals the lead and their only run of the game in the second of the twin-bill.

The Concordia lead would only last until the bottom of the third when the Warriors scored three runs from Bailey Dembinski, Kylie Hill and Kayla Feeney to take the lead for good.

The bottom of the fifth saw Tech plate four more runs from Dembinski, Hill, Feeney and Cotton to extend the Indiana Tech lead to 7-1.

The game ended after the sixth when the Dembinski scored her third run of the game and Sofia Johangten stole home after a wild pitch as a pinch-runner for Feeney.

Cotton led the offense with a 3-for-3 performance, driving in four and scoring once. Dembinski scored three times while Hill and Feeney each scored twice.

The Warriors out-hit the Cardinals 11-1.

Pitcher Tori Simper was awarded the win as she allowed just one run on one hit over six innings.

The Warriors are back in action on April 16 when they face Wolverine-Hoosier Athletics Conference foe Madonna in Livonia, Mich. The first of two games begins at 3:30 p.m.
