FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team looks to continue its winning streak as they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan this weekend for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament.
Tech, ranked fourth in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 10 Poll and third in this week's National Women's Lacrosse League (NWLL) Poll, is currently riding a six-game winning streak and an upset over third-ranked Davenport to claim a share of the WHAC regular season title last Saturday with a thrilling 12-11 victory at Warrior Athletic Field. The title is the third in the history of the program. The Warriors got the second seed in the conference tournament after Davenport won the tiebreaker on RPI ratings.
Offensively Tech is led by
Alexa Winter,
Kristina Scott and
Sam Vikstrom. Winter leads the team in goals (55), assists (13) and points (68) while Scott and Vikstrom are second and third in goals (32 and 30). Vikstrom is also a force on the defensive side for first-year head coach
Jason Allen as she leads the team in ground balls (88) and caused turnovers (53) while she has won a team-high 54 draw controls.
In goal
Meaghan Eldridge has been a brick wall with a 6.36 goals against average and a .453 save percentage.
Nicole Price and
Heidi Tremaine have done outstanding work in the midfield with 33 caused turnovers between the two and 79 ground balls.
