FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer teams starts its second season on Wednesday as they begin their journey in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament on the road against third-seeded Siena Heights in a quarterfinal contest.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from O'Laughlin Stadium on the campus of Siena Heights. Price for admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
The Warriors enter the postseason at the sixth seed in the WHAC Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 4-4-2 record and 14 points. It is the eight year in a row that Tech has qualified for the conference tournament under head coach
Jim Lipocky.
The Orange and Black boast a solid offensive presence in the senior duo of
Tori Singstock and
Shelby Lucas, who have combined to score 17 of the Warriors 30 goals this year. Singstock sits just one goal behind former standout Kara Walker for the most goals in program history (66), and needs two goals to obtain sole possession of the all-time mark.
Senior defender
Hannah Duschl leads a solid back line for Tech along with juniors
Sydney Lemelin and
Kayla Saffran, and keepers
Chloe Parker and
Christina Wynn, who have combined to hold opponents to just 1.85 goals per game.
Tech fell to Siena Heights in their regular season meeting, 3-2, in overtime, back on October 18 in Adrian.
