KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Indiana Tech junior Malik Stuart was named the NAIA National Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, the national office announced Wednesday.
 
Stuart improved his mark in the discus to an automatic qualifying standard with a season-best throw of 49.51m/162-5 to take second at the Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Invitational last weekend. The Nassau, Bahamas native would also capture his third shot put title of the season with a toss of 16.51m/54-2 at the invite. He currently holds the top mark in the nation in the shot put and second-best throw in the discus.
 
It is his second career honor from the national office.
