FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech softball team has released its schedule for the 2021 season, head coach
Stephanie Zimny announced.
The Warriors will open up the season with a weekend trip to Indiana University Southeast February 20-21 before opening up its home slate at Warrior Park with a visit from Indiana Wesleyan University Feb. 23. The home stand continues Feb. 27 with a crosstown showdown against the University of Saint Francis and extends into March with matchups against Marian University (March 6), Huntington University (March 9) and a rematch against Indiana Wesleyan (March 13).
Tech begins Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play March 26-27 with a trek to Grand Rapids, Michigan to take on Cornerstone University and Aquinas College before returning to nonconference action March 30 and April 2 as they battle Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and Calumet College of St. Joseph, respectively. The Orange and Black get back to WHAC action April 3 as they open up a six-game home stand with Lawrence Technological University followed by University of Northwestern Ohio (April 7) and Rochester University (April 10). The Warriors head back on the road to take Concordia University and the University of Michigan-Dearborn April 11 and 14, respectively, before returning home to battle Siena Heights University (April 17), Cleary University (April 18) and Taylor University (April 21).
The Warriors close out the regular season with visits to Madonna University (April 24), Roosevelt University (May 1) and the University of Saint Francis [Ill.] (May 2) while hosting Lourdes University (April 25), Indiana University South Bend (April 29) and Trinity Christian College (April 30).
The 2021 WHAC Tournament is scheduled for May 5-7 at Pacesetter Park in Sylvania, Ohio.
The 2021 NAIA Opening Round is slated for May 17-19 at various sites while the NAIA National Championship is set for May 27-June 2 at the South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus, Georgia.
