FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Indiana Tech opened WHAC Tournament play with a 1–0 win over Lourdes on Friday morning at Warrior Park, using a dominant performance in the circle and a timely swing from Carlye Walter to advance.
In a tightly contested game, neither team was able to break through offensively until the fourth inning. That's when Walter delivered the difference-maker, launching a solo home run to center field to give the Warriors a 1–0 lead.
From there, Indiana Tech relied on Savannah Bravo, who was outstanding in the circle. Bravo tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just four hits while striking out seven and walking one to keep Lourdes off the scoreboard.
Both teams finished with four hits, but the Warriors made theirs count. Walter led the way with the lone RBI, while Kiersten Delaney, Melissa Cabrera, and Alyssa Fox each added a hit.
Indiana Tech's defense held strong throughout, stranding multiple Lourdes runners and making key plays to preserve the narrow lead.
With the win, the Warriors move forward in the WHAC Tournament and will face Lawrence Tech in the next round Saturday, 25th at 1pm at Warrior Park.
