GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech esports program concluded the inaugural Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) schedules over the weekend inside the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center with the first-ever WHAC Overwatch and League of Legends Tournaments.
Tech took second in the Overwatch Tournament Saturday afternoon as the number three seed, taking down sixth-seeded Concordia University and second-seeded Aquinas College by 3-0 scores before falling to top-seeded Lourdes University in the finals, 4-0.
In Sunday's League of Legends Tournament, the fifth-seeded Warriors defeated Cleary University 2-0 before falling to top-seeded and eventual champion Aquinas, 3-0.
The conference also announced its Champion of Character and All-Academic Teams over the weekend, with
Nathanael Wertz being tabbed as the Warriors nominee for the former while
Joseph Deboer,
Jackson Saalfrank,
Tyler Tackett and Samuel Thomas were named to the latter.
Christan Goins was named to the Overwatch All-Conference Second-Team.
