NEW BOSTON, Mich. --
Juan Caballero raced to a new 8K personal record on Friday to lead the Indiana Tech cross country teams at Wayne State's Warrior Challenge. His efforts resulted in a top 15 finish individually while both the men and women placed 9th as a team.
At 26:01.4, Caballero took thirteen seconds off his previous PR over the 8K distance and moved him up to 26th on the all-time Indiana Tech list. He now has the best PR of any active team member.
Ngor Agwick (27:30.9) and
Dylan Banda (28:39.4) were the #2 and #3 finishers while freshmen
Liamm Passey (28:48.3) and
Mikel Cox (29:18.1) rounded out the scoring contingent in their 8K debut.
McKenna Palmer assumed her usual spot as the women's #1 finisher, taking 29th in 24:25.6. Freshman
Sarah Koker had a nice debut at the distance, going to #7 on the all-time Indiana Tech 6K list. Her time of 24:51.5 was good enough for 43rd overall.
The Warriors now have a full three weeks off until their next competition on October 5th at the Seminole Valley Challenge in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
