SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Indiana Tech Esports team travelled to South Bend, Indiana for the WHAC Overwatch 2 Tournament hosted by Bethel University over the weekend.
The WHAC Tournament is a six-team single elimination tournament. The top two teams during the regular season earned a bye, while the other four teams competed in the first round. The Warriors entered the tournament as the #1 seed and favorites to win the title after an undefeated regular season. Siena Heights was the #2 seed, followed by Saint Xavier, Lawrence Tech, Aquinas, and Cornerstone
After a first-round bye, the Warriors would meet #4 Lawrence Tech in the semifinal round, defeating the Blue Devils 3-0 on Friday to advance to the finals. #3 Saint Xavier would sweep #2 Siena Heights 3-0 in the other semifinal matchup. In the championship match, Tech would take down the Cougars 4-1 on Saturday to claim the title.
Four Warriors would earn All-WHAC nods, including three WHAC First Team All-Conference selections, and one Second Team selection.
Alejandro Nieto (Ninjaaa),
Kiro Blythe (Crusty), and
Carter Frink (m2skyy) made the first team, while
John Chouiraf (Fluffy) made the second team.
Indiana Tech wraps up their fall Overwatch 2 season with an undefeated record of 8-0 and a WHAC Tournament Championship. The Warriors will now prepare for their spring League of Legends and Valorant seasons.
