FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team wrapped up their regular season on Saturday afternoon as it took down Lawrence Tech in straight sets, 27-25, 25-22, and 25-19. The Warriors' win over LTU completes the season sweep, as Tech took the first meeting 3-2.
The Warriors outlasted the Blue Devils in a tight opening set, rallying from a 17–9 deficit behind a surge led by
Lauren Snyder and
Jaycee Strawsma. The Warriors would battle all the way back, tying the frame 20–20. After trading points deep into extras, a
Hannah Teich service ace sealed the 27–25 comeback. The second set unfolded with more momentum swings. LTU again started quickly, but Tech surged ahead behind kills from Snyder and Teich and a service run by
Kassidy Boener to go up 13–10. Though LTU tied it at 20–20, back-to-back kills from Teich put the Warriors back on track. Later, Teich delivered an ace to reach set point, and Snyder put the frame away, 25–22. The Warriors controlled the third set from the midpoint on, capitalizing on several LTU attack errors before late kills from
Keira Hans and
Jacqueline Allaway closed out a 25–19 decision and the sweep.
Snyder paced the Warriors' attack with 14 kills.
Isabella Assaley helped keep the offense moving as she led the side with 21 assists.
Kristin Matlack kept the Blue Devils on their toes in serve receive, leading the Warriors with four aces. Teich and Allaway led the front line defense with two blocks each, while
Emiline Wood anchored the defense with 16 digs.
The Warriors finish the regular season with a 21-11 record overall, 14-6 in conference play. The Warriors now prepare for the postseason, which kicks off on November 12
th with the quarterfinal round of the WHAC tournament.
