AUGUSTA, Mich. – On Monday, the Indiana Tech men's golf team traveled to Augusta, Michigan, to compete in the three-round Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championship. Tech finished fifth out of the thirteen teams competing with a team score of 920.
The Warriors were led by
Miguel Gonzales Sanchez, who finished tied for twelfth place with a score of 227 (70, 81, 76).
Spencer Keller finished second for the Warriors in a tie for 19
th, carding a 229 (74, 76, 79) in his three rounds.
Ashton Hoffbauer came in next for the Warriors, posting a 233 (79, 74, 80) for a 31st-place finish.
Ruben Mate rounded out the scoring for the Orange and Black with a 238 (78, 76, 84), finishing tied-36th.
The WHAC also released their conference honors in coordination with the conference championship, with the Warriors having two players earn honors.
Miguel Gonzales Sanchez and
Spencer Keller were both named to the All-Conference Second Team. Keller was also the Warriors' representative on the WHAC Champions of Character Team, which is made up of one nominee from each school who best exemplifies the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
The Warriors also had
Calvin Hartleroad,
Trevor Hummer,
Jackson Policicchio, and
Blake Schultz named to the All-Academic Team. To be named to the all-academic team, students must be a sophomore or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA and in attendance at the nominating school for one full year.
