FORT WAYNE, Ind. – As we welcome the Warriors back to campus, we also welcome back the national rankings for our teams. After a summer of regrouping, recruiting new faces, and preparing for another season, our Warriors are ready to make their mark. For the first edition of the 2026-27 Ranking Round Up, we welcome six Indiana Tech teams to the rankings this fall. Let's take a look at where our Warriors stand as they begin their push through the season.
We welcome back the men's soccer team to the Ranking Round Up as if they never left. The Warriors entered the season ranked No. 6 nationally before climbing as high as No. 2. Tech currently sits at No. 4 in the national poll. With plenty of season still ahead, the Warriors will look to use the latest ranking as motivation as they continue their push toward the top spot and a run in the national tournament. The Warriors have started the season hot, improving to 9-1-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Tech is led offensively by
Robin Vezinhet, who already has seven goals on the season. On the other end of the field, freshman goalkeeper
Alan Fleischer has been a key piece for the Warriors. The Colchester, England, native has recorded more than 810 minutes in goal and 29 saves this season, helping Tech keep opposing offenses at bay.
Next in the rankings are our men's and women's bowling teams, who have made the national polls a familiar spot in recent seasons and are looking to continue that trend this year.
The men's team ranked at No. 4, led by All-American
Malakai Pettrie, finished fifth at WHAC #1 at JAX 60. Pettrie earned All-Tournament honors after finishing second individually with a 737 series, while
Kaden Salts added a seventh-place finish with a 705. The Warriors also saw their JV 1 squad take first in the JV division.
The women's team enters the rankings at No. 12 and finished fourth at WHAC #1.
Miah Fetting and
Jenna Boyer earned All-Tournament honors, finishing second and fifth individually, respectively. The Warriors' JV 1 team also claimed the JV division title.
Both bowling teams are off to a strong start, with the women sitting at No. 12 nationally and the men sitting at No. 4 nationally, both teams earning solid finishes at WHAC #1. With strong individual performances and both JV squads finding success, the Warriors will look to carry that momentum into the rest of the season.
Our women's ice hockey team enters the national rankings at No. 13 after opening the season with a 1-0 victory over Purdue Northwest in their home opener. The Warriors' first win of the season also marked the first career win at Indiana Tech for new head coach
Mike O'Grady and assistant coach
Brooke Almond. After two scoreless periods,
Halle Murray broke through early in the third period, scoring the game-winning goal with assists from
Keisha McLeod and
Avery Johnson.
New to the Ranking Round Up, and for the first time in program history, our men's rugby team joins the national rankings at No. 17. After reaching as high as No. 15, the Warriors currently sit at No. 17 after a strong start to the season. Tech currently holds a 3-1-1 record, opening the season with a 29-29 tie against Notre Dame before picking up wins over Iowa Central, Trine and Thomas More. The Warriors also secured their first Big Rivers Rugby Conference victory with a 22-7 win over Thomas More. As the program makes its first appearance in the national rankings, the Warriors will look to continue building on their historic start as they take on the rest of their conference schedule and make their mark on the national stage.
Last in this edition of the Ranking Round Up is our men's ice hockey team, who received votes in the national poll before even hitting the ice this season. The Warriors will officially kick off their season this weekend as they take on Davenport during Homecoming Weekend. Leading the Warriors this season will be fifth-year senior
Pavel Svoboda, who will wear the captain's "C" in his final season in the Orange & Black. Joining him in the leadership group are alternate captains
Isaiah Gagerman,
Mason Bazaluk, and
Jeremy Dunmore. With experienced leaders returning to the ice, Tech will look to start the season strong and work its way into the national rankings as the season gets underway.
With strong starts, new faces, experienced leadership, and plenty of season still ahead, the Warriors will look to continue making their mark as they compete for conference success and national recognition. Be sure to check back throughout the season as we follow the rankings and see where our Warriors land next.
