Rankings Roundup!

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Winter and spring competitions are both in full swing for the Indiana Tech Warriors, as winter sports continue their postseason pushes while spring teams are already building momentum or the season ahead. With athletes competing, improving, and preparing for key matchups, the Warriors are focused on finishing strong in winter and starting the spring with purpose. The Warriors currently have 12 active programs represented in the latest polls or receiving votes.

Wrapping up the winter season, both men's and women's basketball continued postseason action as they wrapped up WHAC Tournament games and now get set for the NAIA National Tournament next weekend. Both programs are also receiving votes in the national polls, highlighting the strong and consistent seasons each team has put together.

The women's basketball team closed out an impressive regular season by clinching their fifth straight WHAC regular season title with a statement win over Madonna on Taylor Covington's Senior Day. Covington has been a dominant force all season, leading the team in points, three-pointers, and assists, proving to be a true all-around leader on the court resulting in her winning WHAC Player of the Year for a second straight season. The Warriors have also received major contributions from playmakers such as Ryan Moorer, Jaidyn Gulley, and Gabby Ritchie, whose energy and consistency have provided key sparks throughout the season. The Warriors continued their strong run by winning the WHAC Tournament title on their home court, defeating Rochester Christian University to claim the championship on Monday night.

The men's basketball team also served as one of the host sites for the WHAC Tournament. They finished second in the conference regular season with an impressive 17–5 record in league play. In their opening tournament matchup against Cornerstone, the Warriors secured a dominant win to advance to the next round, where they fell to Rochester Christian. However, their season continues as the team received an automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament. For the men, Jaxson Fugate was named WHAC Player of the Year after an outstanding season on both ends of the floor. He led the team in points, rebounds, and blocks, showcasing his defensive presence and offensive consistency as a true leader for the Warriors. He has been complemented by other key contributors like Blake Davison, Logan Beaston, and Eric Hobson, whose physicality, scoring ability, and all-around play have added depth and strength to the lineup throughout the season.

Softball started its season with a bang, shutting out Campbellsville University in Kentucky with an 8–0 mercy-rule victory. Although they dropped the rest of the weekend's games, finishing 1–3, the Warriors bounced back at home with a hard-fought 9–7 win over Huntington University. Most recently, the Indiana Tech Warriors softball team picked up a doubleheader sweep over the Grace College Lancers, winning 5–0 in Game 1 and 5–3 in Game 2. In the opener, Savannah Bravo dominated in the circle, throwing a complete-game no-hitter with 11 strikeouts. The Warriors backed her with 12 hits, including a home run from Kiersten Delaney. Indiana Tech carried the momentum into Game 2, scoring five runs on five hits. Morgan Macek led the offense with a 2-for-2 performance, while Alyssa Fox, Avery Kidwell, and Melissa Cabrera each drove in runs. Bravo returned in relief to secure the win and complete the sweep. The team's early performances showcase both experience and determination as they continue building momentum this spring. The Warriors now head to Arizona for spring break where they will play 12 games in seven days at the Tucson Invitational Games.

The Indiana Tech Warriors baseball team joins this week's rankings roundup after opening its season with multiple trips to Kentucky. The Warriors went 1–2 against the Midway University Eagles, 3–0 against No. 6 University of the Cumberlands Patriots, and 2–2 against the Campbellsville University Tigers. Indiana Tech made an early statement by sweeping the nationally ranked Patriots, showing the Warriors can compete with top teams early in the season. The Warriors will next travel to Georgia to face the Georgetown College Tigers and Georgia Gwinnett College Grizzlies twice each in Lawrenceville.

Men's lacrosse remained ranked No. 6 in the national poll after their home opener against three-time defending national champions Keiser from Florida. The Warriors battled hard in a back-and-forth first period, but No. 1 ranked Keiser eventually pulled away to secure the win. The team quickly shifted momentum in their matchup against Missouri Baptist last Friday, earning a victory by a score of 28 to 10. Indiana Tech's Kinley Hynote was named the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Hynote had a monster game against Missouri Baptist last Friday earning him and Tech lacrosse's first conference player of the week honor this season. He put up a whopping 13 points, scoring seven goals and adding six assists. The win helped spark positive momentum as the Warriors continue their season and look to climb in the rankings.

Women's lacrosse also remains strong in the polls, holding steady at No. 8 after dropping one spot. The Warriors start the season 0-1 after falling to No. 2 University of the Cumberlands in a game that was fairly even after a rusty first quarter. Tech women's lax will host their first home game up next on Saturday, March 7th at 1pm at Warrior Athletic Field in Fort Wayne, Indiana against No. 7 Missouri Baptist University in another top ten matchup. These tough early-season games will help prepare the team as they build momentum heading into conference play.

Men's and women's wrestling continue postseason action with the NAIA National Tournament up next. Men's wrestling remains at No. 5 while the women also stay at No. 7 in the polls.

The Indiana Tech men's wrestling team hosted the 2026 WHAC Championships with eight schools coming to Fort Wayne for the event. Tech would finish the tournament as runners-up as Marian claimed the title. Despite the Warriors not being crowned team champions for the first time in WHAC history, they would still have a number of impressive individual performances. Jonathan Kervin and Nathan Critchfield would win WHAC titles, while five Warriors would be runners-up, and ten (plus two additional qualifiers) would punch their ticket to the NAIA National Tournament running from March 5th to the 7th.

The Indiana Tech women's wrestling team traveled to Kentucky for the 2026 MSC Championships last Friday, where the Warriors made history with a runner-up finish, scoring 164 points — their highest placement in program history at the conference tournament. Life University captured their fourth straight conference title, finishing with 211.5 points. Twelve athletes competed at the championships, with seven placing in the top three and earning all-conference honors. Rose Kaplan was named Wrestler of the Tournament after winning the MSC title at 124 pounds and earning first-team all-conference honors. The Warriors now turn their focus to their national run, which takes place March 13–14 as they look to capture their first national title.

The men's and women's track and field teams continue to make major moves and deliver strong performances across the board. Both the men's and women's indoor track and field teams captured WHAC conference titles, with the men securing their 14th straight indoor championship. The women returned to the top of the conference this season, making it 14 titles in the last 16 seasons. The women's team moved down three spots to No. 13 in the rankings but continue to showcase strong overall team performances as they push through the season. Giselle Uvieghara earned Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors after hitting two NAIA A standards in the 400m and the 4x400m relay at the BGSU Big Meet. She ran a lifetime-best 55.80 to hit the A standard in the 400m, a time that now ranks ninth in the NAIA. Uvieghara also ran a leg on the 4x400m relay team, which also hit the A standard and currently holds the fourth-fastest time in the NAIA. The men's track and field team remains ranked No. 3 nationally, continuing their steady performance following recent competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jayden Packer earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week after clearing a season-best 4.75m in the pole vault, hitting the NAIA B standard at the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge. He currently ranks 12th in the NAIA in his event. The Warriors now wrap up the indoor season at the NAIA National Championships in Gainesville, Florida from March 5-7.

Lastly both the men's and women's bowling teams stay strong in the polls with the men at No. 4 and the women at No. 12. The Indiana Tech men's bowling team earned an at-large bid to the 2026 NAIA Men's Bowling National Championship, the NAIA announced on Monday. Indiana Tech will be the five seed in the upcoming tournament, which will take place March 19-21 at Royal Scot Lanes in Lansing, Michigan. The championship takes on a new format in 2026, as a dozen seeded teams split into two six-team, double-elimination brackets, playing mega-match style competitions for the right to play in the championship mega-match. The Indiana Tech Warriors women's bowling competed at the WHAC Bowling Championships last weekend, finishing second overall. Despite the strong performance, the Warriors did not receive a bid to the NAIA National Championships, just narrowly missing the cut by one spot. Both Indiana Tech teams will now look ahead to the ITC Sectionals, set for March 14–15 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where they will compete for a spot at nationals.
