FORT WAYNE, IND. - Indiana Tech split its doubleheader against Defiance College on Friday at Warrior Park, using a dominant performance in game one before falling in the nightcap.

The Warriors came out strong in the opener, securing a 7-0 shutout behind a complete-game performance from Savannah Bravo. The right-hander was in control throughout, allowing just four hits while striking out seven. Indiana Tech got on the board early as Morgan Macek showcased her speed, stealing home in the first inning. The offense added on in the fifth with an RBI single from Carlye Walter before breaking the game open in the sixth. A big three-RBI triple from Alyssa Harvey highlighted the inning, followed by an RBI double from Walter to cap off the scoring. Macek led the way at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored as the Warriors totaled nine hits in the win.

In game two, Defiance capitalized on early opportunities, building a 5-0 lead through the first three innings. Despite the early deficit, Indiana Tech continued to battle and found a spark in the sixth inning when Mikayla Cvitanovich launched a two-run home run to put the Warriors on the board. Tech threatened to build momentum late but was unable to close the gap, ultimately falling 5-2.

The split showcases Indiana Tech's ability to dominate on both sides of the ball while also emphasizing the need for consistent execution across all seven innings. With continued production at the plate and strong outings in the circle, the Warriors look to tighten up the small details as conference play moves forward. Their next game will be on the road at Lourdes University on April 8th, where they will take on the Gray Wolves.
