Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. –Led by a pair of double-doubles from Sabine Filippovica and Rachael Kruse, the Indiana Tech women's basketball team defeated Wilberforce 84- 59 at the Schaefer Center on Saturday night.

The Warriors (1-0) started the game on a 13-3 run, including a 9-0 start and never looked back. The Bulldogs (0-1) got to within eight on three occasions in the first half, but wouldn't get any closer as the Warriors stretched the lead to 17, 37-20, with 4:23 left in the period, before heading to the break up nine, 42-33, as Wilberforce closed the half on a 13-5 run.

The Orange and Black shot just 36.4 percent (12-33) from the field including a 12.5 percent (1-8) mark from the three-point line while shooting 77.3 percent (17-22) from the free throw line. Luckily the defense limited the Bulldogs to 32.4 percent (12-37) from the field, 2-15 (13.3%) from behind the arc and just 7-18 from the line.

Filippovica netted all 11 of her points in the first half, while collecting four rebounds, while Kruse scored nine and grabbed five boards.

A quick three and a layup cut the Warriors lead to just four early in the second half, however, Tech went on another 9-0 run to stretch the lead out to 13, 51-38 and led the rest of the way by double digits. A Rayana Villalpando layup with 41 seconds to play gave the Warriors their final margin of victory and largest lead of the game at 25 points, 84-59.

Tech hit 17 of 37 (45.9%) shots in the second half, despite going 0-4 from behind the arc and hitting just 8 of 19 (42.1%) free throws. The defense turned it up in the second period holding the Bulldogs to seven of 39 (17.9%) from the floor, two of 13 (15.4%) from three while they converted 10 of 16 (62.5%) from the charity stripe.

Chelsea Carradine led all scorers with 19 points, including 15 in the second half while Kruse finished two assist shy of a triple-double, scoring 17 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out eight assists. Filippovia finished with 11 points and 13 boards while Ulyssia Richmond tallied 12 points and had nine rebounds.

The Warriors return to the court on Friday, Nov. 1 when they take on Bethel (Ind.) at 7 p.m. as part of the Orthopedic Hospital Classic put on by the University of St. Francis (Ind.).
