Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Led by a pair of 24-point efforts by Rachael Kruse and Chelsea Carradine, the Indiana Tech women's basketball team downed the Gray Wolves of Lourdes University 88-69 on Saturday at the Schaefer Center.

It was a slow start for the Warriors (9-4, 6-1) who improved to 6-0 at home, as Lourdes scored the game's first three points. Tech answered and the two teams traded baskets before the Warriors went on an 11-2 run to take an eight-point, 19-11 lead with 9:55 to play in the half. A 7-0 run from the Gray Wolves cut the lead to one and each team made several runs over the final five minutes, with Lauren Tilden hitting a three just before the half to knot the game at 37.

Lourdes won the battle of the paint, outscoring Tech 16-12 while also scoring 11 points off turnovers to just six for the Warriors. Tech finished the half 15-for-34 (44.1%) from the field including a 4-for-12 (33.3%) mark from the three-point line while also converting 3-of-4 (75%) attempts from the free throw line. The defense held the Gray Wolves to 36.1 percent (13-for-36) shooting percentage in the half including a 35.7 percent (5-for-14) from three while going 6-for-10 (60%) from the charity stripe.

Kruse led the Warriors with 14 points and grabbed five rebounds while Carradine led the team with six first half boards. Lourdes' Tilden also scored 14 points while Tiffani Blackman had a half-high seven rebounds.

The second half was all Lourdes early as the visitors from Sylvania, Ohio opened the second half on a 9-2 run to take their largest lead of seven points, 46-39, with 16:51 to play. Tech didn't fold though, battling back to tie the game at 49. The teams tied again at 51 before the Warriors wrestled control for the Gray Wolves, outscoring them 37-18 over the games' final 12 minutes, leading by double-digits for most of the half.

Tech finished the game 31-for-63 (49.2%) from the field, 7-for-19 (36.8%) from behind the arc and 19-for-24 (79.2%) from the free throw stripe. On the other side, Lourdes was just 21-for-65 (32.3%) from the floor, 7-for-24 (29.25) from three and 20-for-29 (69%) from the charity stripe.

Carradine and Kruse each finished with 24 points while Carradine added 11 points for her sixth double-double of the season. Ulyssia Richmond finished with 17 points while Rayana Villalpando added 11. Simone Russell added 10 rebounds for the Warrior with Kruse tallying seven.

Tilden led Lourdes with 23 points while Blackman led the Gray Wolves with 13 rebounds.

Tech returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 30 when they play host to top-ranked University of St. Francis (Ind.) in the second game of the SportONE Classic at 7:30 p.m. They will face Spring Arbor on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 4 p.m. to conclude the Classic. All contests will be held at the Schaefer Center.
