Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Clay Wallace and Chase Keathley tossed a pair of gems for the Indiana Tech baseball team as the Warriors swept Siena Heights in the first two games of the four-game series, at Warriors Stadium on Saturday.

The Warriors (17-16-1, 9-5) won game one, 6-2, before defeating the Saints (13-14, 3-5) in game two, 7-4.

GAME ONE | TECH 6, SHU 2 | BOX SCORE

Wallace (3-3) got the start in game one and was three outs shy of a complete game, scattering eight hits over eight-plus innings, allowing two runs, one earned while striking out nine against just two walks. Curtis Wise completed the contest with a one-hit ninth inning.

Jacob Dunnichay led the offense with a 3-for-4 performance, driving in two and scoring one while Thomas Barnes, Justin Kalusa and Derek Morgan each recorded two hits.

Wallace sat the Saints down in order in the first and the offense got right to work. Kalusa started the inning with a one-out single and a two-out walk to Romer Portes extended the inning for Dunnichay who singled to center to plate Kalusa for a 1-0 lead.

The Warriors right-hander worked around a one-out single in the second to keep the Saints off the board and the offesnse added to their lead in the bottom half. Alex McKinstry drew a leadoff walk and stole second, allowing him to score on Morgan's single for the 2-0 lead.

Siena Heights broke through in the top of the third thanks to two Tech errors. Wallace started the inning with back-to-back strikeouts, but a pair of errors allowed both runners to reach first. A single from centerfielder, Drew Mueller, plated the Saints first run, but Wallace induced a double-play to escape the inning.

After a scoreless fourth, Tech added insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth for a 5-1 lead. Barnes got thing started with a single and promptly stole second. Kalusa followed with a walk and Bryan Brudi sacrificed the runners over for Portes who singled to right, scoring both runners, advancing to third on an error. Dunnichay followed with a one-out RBI single for the third run of the frame.

Wallace escaped trouble again in the sixth, stranding two runners, but wasn't able to do so in the eighth as a two-out triple and back-to-back singles plated the second run for SHU. In the bottom half, Tech got the run back as Dunnichay led off the inning with a double and scored one batter later as Brian Hakes singled to right-center for the 7-2 margin.

Tech plated their seven runs on 12 hits while committing two errors with the visitors tallying two runs on nine hits and two errors.

GAME TWO | TECH 7, SHU 4 | BOX SCORE

Keathley (2-3) followed Wallace's gem with one of his own, tossing a seven inning complete game, allowing four runs, two earned on four hits for the win. Tech tallied seven runs in the second game on eight hits and two errors to support the right-hander.

Keathley stranded two runners in the top of the first and much like game one, Tech took the lead in their first at-bat, improving to 9-2 when scoring in the first inning and 13-4 when scoring first. Barnes led off the inning with a hit-by-pitch and stole his third base of the day, advancing to third on a balk and scoring one pitch later as Kalusa doubled to left field. Brudi flew out to right to advance Kalusa to third and Portes followed with an RBI groundout to second for a 2-0 lead.

The Saints went down in order in the second and Tech added another run as McKinstry drew a leadoff walk, stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on another RBI groundout, this time by Morgan.

Both teams stranded a runner in the third and Tech did so again in the fourth before the Saints plated their first run of the game in the fifth as back-to-back singles, an error and a sacrifice fly scored two unearned runs for SHU, cutting the lead to one, 3-2. The home team answered back in the fifth to take the lead.

Kalusa started the frame with a home run onto Anthony Blvd. and a one-out double by Portes ended the day for the Saints starter. Ben Finn came in to pitch and was greeted by an RBI single from Dunnichay to extend the lead to three, 5-2. The Warriors weren't done though as Hakes was hit by a pitch and McKinstry reached on a bunt to load the bases. Morgan followed with a sacrifice fly and Geronimo Berroa, Jr. singled to score another run, making it 7-2.

After a scoreless sixth, the Saints got a two-out, two-run home run from Logan Curtis, but that's all the offense they could muster off the Warriors starter.

Kalusa finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored while Portes and Dunnichay also tallied two hits while driving in a run each and score one run a piece.

The Warriors will conclude their four-game series with another doubleheader against the Saints tomorrow at Warriors Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
