Box Score CINCINATTI, Ohio - The Indiana Tech American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 3 Ice Hockey team got back on the winning track over Xavier University Friday with a 4-3 win. Three Tech players accounted for 10 points to lead the charge.
Ryan Theisen assisted on all four Indiana Tech goals, while
Nick Denice and
Connor Barney each had a pair of goals and an assist in the win.
"The boys battled their way back into the win column and it was a good game to build off of to finish the semester strong," said head coach
Brian Lockhart.
Denice had the lone tally of the opening period to stake the Warriors to a 1-0 lead on the power play. Tech would build that lead to three with second-period tallies from Barney and Denice, respectively.
Xavier climbed back into the contest at 3-2, but Barney would net the game winner in the third period from Theisen and
Tyler Grunden.
The Warriors amassed 38 shots, while Tech goaltender,
Russell Smascz recorded 24 saves in the win.
The same two teams will square off Saturday with a 1 p.m. puck drop.
