The final rankings came out this past Thursday for the ACHA league. The Warriors moved up a spot and are now ranked 10
th in the North region. The Warriors were off the last weekend of first semester and ended up gaining ground in the rankings.
Tech closed out the first semester with a split of 6
th ranked Indiana University. The Warriors won Friday nights contest 4-3. Freshman forwards, Bobby Frieson and
Bear Ross scored in the first period for Tech.
Connor Barney would make it 3-0 in the second, but IU would storm back scoring 3 unanswered to tie the game at 3. The Warriors would get a goal before the second was over from
Bear Ross. The third would come and go with no scoring.
Saturday's game would see the Warriors take the lead again getting up 2-0 with goals from Bobby Frieson and
Jordan Reese. Indiana would add a goal before the end of the second to make the game 2-1 going into the third.
Bear Ross would give the Warriors a two-goal lead early in the third. Tech would be unable to hold off IU the rest of the way. The third period would be full of penalties for the Warriors and IU would capitalize with 3 powerplay goals. IU would add an empty net goal and win the game 5-3.
The Warriors open the second semester January 11
th against 6
th ranked Michigan State University with a Friday night matchup at Munn Ice Arena in Michigan. Tech will return home for a Saturday night matchup against the Spartans with puck drop at 5:30 pm. Â
