HOLLAND, Mich. – Senior goaltender
Chris Boyd and senior forward
Anthony Passarelli earned second team All-Conference honors from the Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC), becoming the first Indiana Tech players to collect MCHC honors in the history of the program.
"I couldn't be happier for Chris and Anthony to receive such an award; their hard work and leadership throughout the team have been visible and they're both very appreciated by the rest of the guys," commented men's ACHA D3 head coach
Jacob Ryd. "They're both seniors who have been with the team for a while and they really stepped their game up this year, and both me and coach Cameron are very excited to have been able to be a part of their success on the ice."
Boyd played a key role for the Warriors this year on defense, guarding the net in 25 of the Warriors' 31 games, allowing 4.91 goals per game with an .885 save percentage. He put up these numbers despite some defensive struggles strongly influenced by a short roster during the second half of the season.
Passarelli was, on the other hand, a strong force offensively for the Warriors. He surpassed his previous season high with 19 goals for a total of 47 points in 29 games played, seven points greater than his previous best.
Overall, the two seniors played a big part in leading the Warriors to their first MCHC conference tournament win -- a 5-3 defeat of Calvin College in the opening round of the 2018-19 MCHC tournament.
