Bearcats Late Goal Sinks @INTechWLAX in 2014 Opener, 11-12

Box Score
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team fell 12-11 to McKendree University in their season opener played at Park Tudor High School in Indianapolis on Saturday.

The game was back and forth between the two teams leading to a 7-6 halftime score in favor of the Warriors.

McKendree opened scoring after a minute of play with a goal from Hannah Schneider. Tech responded with a pair goals from Autumn McMillin and Kendall Guthrie to take the 2-1 lead.
Guthrie added two more goals in the half and McMillin had another goal and an assist in the first half. For the Bearcats, Victoria Lelo tallied two goals and Morgan Cremen put two on the board in a 10 second period, separated by a Tayler Campbell goal for Tech, accounting for the 7-6 margin.

In the second half, McMillin tallied her third goal of the contest for the 8-6 advantage, but five consecutive goals, including two by Cremen, gave the visitors an 11-8 lead with 16:21 to play.
The Warriors did not give up, as Guthrie, Alexis Digiovanni and Lauren Allard each answered with a score to tie the game at 11 with 5:15 left on the clock.

With just 1:40 to play, Hanna Schneider scored her third goal of the contest for the game-winner.

"I'm proud of the girls for playing their hearts out until the final whistle," head coach Emily Shreeve said about the game. "Overall, we played a solid game and a few less minor errors could have drastically changed the end results."

"Autumn was on fire today! She was able to put away numerous goals for us, but what really stood out was her outstanding game in transitions and on the defensive end. She caused multiple turnovers, moved the ball well in transitions and was able to be a huge threat on the 8-meter."

The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Pontiac, Mich. to face Lourdes at the Ultimate Soccer Arena. The game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
