GAME 1 | TECH 15, UNOH 3 (7 inn.) | BOX SCORE
Justin Kalusa was the story in game one as the senior continued to hit finishing the game with a cycle. Kalusa singled in the first, tripled in the second, doubled in the third and then hit what proved to be the game-ending grand slam in the sixth for the 15-3 margin, ending the nine-inning contest early. The Elgin, Ill. native finished the contest 4-for-5 with seven RBIs.
On the mound,
Clay Wallace improved to 2-2 on the season as the junior went the distance, pitching seven innings, allowing just one earned run on three hits while striking out two Racers.
GAME 2 | TECH 7, UNOH 14 | BOX SCORE
Game two was scheduled for seven innings, per WHAC guidelines, and it was a rough contest for the Warriors as Kalusa struggled with his command, walking several batters and hitting a few while the defense committed four errors in the contest.
Tech trailed most of the game and made a comeback in the sixth, scoring two runs, but the Racers put up a crooked number, plating seven runs in the bottom of the inning, aided by three errors, to put the game out of reach.
A complete recap and stats will be posted as soon as they are available.
The Warriors return to the field to begin their spring break trip on Sunday, Mar. 16 when they face Grand View in a doubleheader at Warner University in Lake Wales, Fla. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
