Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech baseball team earned a split in the first two games of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference four-game series with Madonna on Friday at Warriors Stadium. Tech dropped the opener, 3-1 before trouncing the Crusaders 10-2 in the second contest.

GAME ONE | IT 1, MU 3

Clay Wallace (4-5) was the tough luck loser in the first game as he tossed a complete game, scattering seven hits over nine innings, allowing three runs, one earned, while striking out seven and walking two.

The Crusaders (21-20, 8-12) got on the board first, as a two-out error extended the inning and a walk and a single gave the visitors a 1-0 lead. The Warriors (21-18-1, 13-7) drew even in the bottom of the second as Brian Hakes singled with two outs and his courtesy runner, Tyler Dennistron, came around to score when Alex McKinstry singled to right.

Another Tech error allowed the Crusaders leadoff man to reach and score in the fourth for the 2-1 lead and they added the final tally in the seventh, aided by another Warriors error, for the 3-1 win.

Both teams tallied seven hits, with Tech stranding five runners in the contest and the four errors being the difference in the contest.

Adam Prashad (4-2) got the win as he scatted seven hits over nine innings, allowing jus ton run, striking out eight and walking two.

Bryan Brudi and McKinstry each tallied two hits, while Denniston tallied the lone run for the home team.

GAME TWO | IT 10, MU 2

The Orange and Black got another solid pitching performance in the second game of the twin-bill as Chase Keathley (3-3) scattered four hits over six innings while allowing just two runs, both unearned, striking out three and walking four.
Keathley's lone mistake of the contest came in the third, following an error that could have ended the inning. With two outs and a runner on third, Keathley left a ball up in the zone and Ryan Lambrecht homered to left field to take the 2-0 lead.

Tech took the lead for good, plating four two-out runs in the bottom of the frame for the lead. Barnes singled with one out and a Brudi walked brought Romer Portes to the plate and he singled to the left side to cut the lead in half, 2-1. Jacob Dunnichay followed with a walk and an error on Hakes' ground ball tied the game. The big hit came off the bat of McKinstry who singled through the hole on the left side to place Portes and Dunnichay and give Tech a lead they didn't relinquish.

Brudi and Dunnichay each drove in a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth to push the lead to six, 8-2. Portes singled to left in the fifth to score Brudi and Zac Pfafman to plate the Warriors 10th run of the game, sealing the win.
Blake Converset closed out the contest with a perfect ninth, striking out one batter.

Justin Kalusa, Bruid and Portes each tallied two hits, with Brudi scoring three times and collecting two RBIs and Portes scored once, driving in three.

The Warriors and Crusaders will conclude their four-game series with a doubleheader tomorrow afternoon with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
