BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Indiana Tech American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 men's ice hockey team defeated Casinisus on Friday night, 8-3, at the Buffalo State Ice Arena.
Tech jumped out to an early lead over the Golden Griffins when
Adam Jonak score at 17:27 in the first period. Just a little over five minutes later,
Ryan Theisen would make it 2-0 and
Nick Denice scored at 10:26 to give the Orange and Black a 3-0 advantage.
Zack Morlock would add a goal at 2:40 in the first as the Warriors headed into the locker room 4-2 after the opening 20 minutes.
Tech would then score two more goals in the second and third period, courtesy of Denice, Morlock,
Jarrett Pfeiffer and
Quentin Holmes.
Chet Tooker picked up his first of the season in net for the Warriors.
Tech (5-3) continues its New York trip on Saturday with a date against No. 21 Buffalo. Puck drop is set for 3:30 p.m. from the Northtown Center at Amherst.
