BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The No. 23
rd-ranked Indiana Tech ACHA Division 1 men's ice hockey team defeated Illinois State, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon at U.S. Cellular Coliseum to complete the weekend sweep of the Redbirds and win their fourth game in a row.
"We found a way to win today," said head coach
Frank DiCristofaro. "Guys stepped up when we needed it and Larson made some big saves down the stretch."
After 40 minutes of scoreless action
Dominick Manochio put the Warriors on the board just 68 seconds into the third period while
Anthony Passarelli added Tech's second goal six and a half minutes later.
Zach Larson kept up his stellar goaltending with 19 more saves and just allowing the one goal off a power play.
Joe Molfetta added his second goal of the weekend with 1:28 left in the game.
Nick Denice added two assists while
Dylan Grant,
Kyle Cobb and Molfetta each had one apiece.
Tech (17-11-1-1) concludes its eight-game road trip on Friday when they visit No. 11 Michigan-Dearborn. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. from the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena and live video will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
