CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 21st-ranked Indiana Tech ACHA Division 1 men's ice hockey team concluded its second season on Saturday evening with a 5-2 loss to No. 15 Illinois on Saturday evening at the University of Illinois Ice Arena.
The Illini got off to a fast start by scoring three goals in the final six and a half minutes of the first period before adding another one in the second.
Dominick Manochio would put the Warriors on the board at 4:22 in the third with a goal while
Jarrett Pfeiffer tacked on the Orange and Black's second goal at 6:26 in the third.
Zach Larson made eight saves on 11 shots in 18:02 while Chet Took stopped 19 shots in relief for the Warriors.
Joe Molfetta and
Ryan Theisen each tallied an assist.
Tech finishes its second year of competition with a record of 21-15-1-1-1 (win-loss-tie-overtime loss-shootout loss).
