The Indiana Tech ACHA D3 hockey team begins their season this weekend playing a pair of games against University of Michigan-Flint. The team will start the season at home playing at 8:30 pm Friday night and will then travel up to Flint for an away game Saturday night. The ACHA team will have 29 games throughout the regular season, their fifth year of competition.

Coming off a successful 2017-18 season where the team went 12-8-2 and made it to regionals for the first time in school history, the ACHA team has some key returning players and some new faces who will be providing some important minutes for the team this season. Connor Barney, the captain from a year ago is back for his senior season and will provide a lot of leadership for Tech this season. The leading scorer from a year ago, Anthony Passarelli is back and is expected to lead Tech's offense along with Barney.

One of the best goalies in ACHA D3, Chris Boyd, is returning for his senior season as well. Chris appeared in 18 games during the regular season last year, going 10-6-2 with a 3.27 GAA and a .900 SV%. Boyd will be expected to hold down the net for the Warriors this year and be the back bone once again.

The ACHA team will be under new coaches this season with graduate assistants Jacob Ryd and Jesse Cameron taking over behind the bench.
