FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 7-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team will look to make history on Wednesday evening inside the Schaefer Center in their regular season home finale against Lawrence Tech as they seek their first-ever outright Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) regular season championship.
The Warriors are currently riding a 17-game winning streak, their longest in program history, and secured a share of the WHAC title for the first time ever this past Saturday as they defeated the University of Northwestern Ohio on Senior Day, 91-55. A win Wednesday against the Blue Devils would ensure Coach
Jessie Biggs' team of the outright title and the program's first conference crown since the 1994-95 season, when Gary Cobb coached the Warriors to back-to-back Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference titles.
A win also clinches one of the WHAC's two automatic berths to the NAIA Division II National Championships, which are set for March 7-13 in Sioux City, Iowa. The other automatic berth from the WHAC goes to the conference tournament champion or runner-up if the regular season champion is in the title game.
The Warriors defeated Lawrence Tech, 74-68, in their first meeting back on January 3 in Southfield, Michigan. LTU is currently ranked 19
th in the nation and sits two games behind Tech in the conference standings and has won 10 games in a row, with their last loss coming to the Orange and Black.
Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday from the Schaefer Center. Tickets can be purchased for $5 at the door while the game will also be streamed online at
