FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 9-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team opens postseason play Thursday as the host Madonna in the quarterfinals of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament at the Schaefer Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
The Warriors are coming off one of their best seasons in program history as the won the regular season WHAC title for the first time ever. With a 27-3 record and 18-2 mark in the conference play, Tech rose as high as number seven in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll and is currently ranked ninth.
The Orange and Black are led by the All-American senior duo of
Haley Cook and
Keanna Gary, who are averaging 18.3 and 18.7 points per game, respectively. Cook leads the nation in total three-pointers (115) while Gary paces the country in double-doubles (20) and is averaging a team-best 11.5 rebounds per game.
Tech can also count on junior forward Kendall "Steady Eddy" Knapke in every situation as the Hoagland, Indiana native is averaging 12.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 46.0% from the floor and 40.1% from three-point range. Sophomore wing

Rachel Bell and
Bella Lozano-Dobbs combine for over six assists per game.
The Crusaders finished the regular season with a 10-18 mark, but have dropped their last five games. Becca Sabol leads the team in scoring (18.3 ppg) and rebounding (10.6 rpg) and became the all-time leading rebounder in the WHAC recently, passing her older sister Hannah's mark of 1,123. Lindsey Hernden is a threat to pull up from deep (39.2%) and is averaging 12.1 points per game.
Admission for WHAC Tournament games are $7 for adults and $5 for students/seniors. Children under eight years old are free.
