Box Score FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The No. 8-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team fell to Lawrence Technological University, 5-4, Friday evening in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play inside Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
 
"That was an extremely disappointing performance," head coach Frank DiCristofaro said. "Our guys didn't treat this game as an opportunity. We wanted to win, just not bad enough where we would go through a wall for each other."
 
Alex Potter, Nick Papandrea, Francesco Corona and Matej Krasny all scored for Tech while Cam Chabot had two assists in the loss. Ryan O'Toole had 16 saves in net while Bryson Linenburg made 18 saves in relief.
 
The Blue Devils came out on fire as they scored three times in the opening period, with all three scores coming in the first 11:34 of the game. Lawrence Tech made it 4-0 just over five minutes into the second period. Papandrea got the Warriors back in the game with a power play goal 12:41 into the period while Krasny cut the deficit in half 32 seconds later to make it a 4-2 game at the second intermission.
 
LTU made it a 5-2 game three minutes into the third and while Corona and Potter scored just four minutes apart to bring the Warriors within a goal, they could not overcome the deficit as they fell in the first game of the Tech Challenge Cup.
 
Tech (17-7-0, 11-4-0 WHAC) returns to action Saturday as they host LTU in the final game of their season series. Puck drop is set for 5:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
