FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Andrea Gorton has been named the head coach of the Indiana Tech Women's Soccer program, Director of Athletics Jessie Biggs announced.

"Coach Gorton brings amazing soccer experience and tactical knowledge." Biggs said. "We are excited to see the development of current players and some great recruitment of future Warriors to the program."

"I want to thank Jessie Biggs and the hiring committee for giving me this opportunity. I am beyond excited to become part of the Warrior family as the new Head Women's Soccer Coach. I look forward to building a program with a winning mentality, where the student athlete experience is valued, and players excel on the field, in the classroom, and in the community." Gorton said.

Growing up in St. Louis, Missouri, Gorton went on to earn an athletic scholarship at Western Illinois University, playing four years of NCAA Division I soccer where she was named team captain as a sophomore and held that title through her senior year. During her time as a Leatherneck, the team earned its best record in program history, first appearance in the Summit League Tournament, and was named one of the NCAA's most improved programs in the year 2005. She also played one season in the W-League for the St. Louis Archers in 2004. 

Gorton began her coaching career as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Garden City Community College in 2009, earning the programs best record in school history in her first season. She then moved to Michigan, spending nearly 10 years coaching for various clubs in the Metro Detroit area and most recently a Director of Coaching. She also spend time working as a U.S. Youth National Team Network Scout from 2017-2022.
