Esports 2025 Spring WHAC Preseason Polls Released

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech Esports team will gear up for a busy spring season with three teams competing as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released the Coaches Polls for Overwatch 2, League of Legends, and Valorant on Thursday afternoon. This will be the first year of Valorant in the WHAC as the Warriors were selected to finish tied for sixth in the debut season. Tech was voted to finish second in both Overwatch 2 and League of Legends.

In the Overwatch 2 preseason poll, Indiana Tech received 40 points trailing just Siena Heights who received all seven first place votes and 49 points. Last season, Tech went 7-0 in conference play to earn the 31 seed, but finished second in the WHAC Tournament, falling to Cleary (projected tied for third this year with Lawrence Tech) in the championship match.

In the League of Legends preseason poll, Indiana Tech received 56 points trailing just Siena Heights who received all eight first place votes and 64 points. Last season, Tech went 5-2 in conference play to finish third and would defeat Concordia in the bronze medal match at the WHAC Tournament.

In addition to Overwatch 2 and League of Legends, the WHAC is introducing Valorant for the spring season. Indiana Tech received 51 points, putting them in a tie for sixth with Bethel. Siena Heights would again be the unanimous preseason champion, receiving all ten first place votes and 100 points.

The WHAC Preseason Poll is voted on by the league's head coaches. Points are tabulated by ranking the teams from top to bottom with the team a coach ranks first earning the most points, then the second most points to the team a coach ranks second, and so on with the final ranked team earning one point. The number of first-place votes indicates the number of coaches who ranked that team as the No. 1 team in the WHAC.
