Indiana Tech standout left-handed pitcher Grant Besser is officially joining one of the most electrifying and nationally recognized teams in baseball after being selected in the 4th Round of the 2026 Banana Ball Draft by the world-famous Savannah Bananas. Known for their sold-out crowds, viral entertainment, and groundbreaking approach to the game, the Bananas have become the face of modern baseball fun—and now, they've added one of Indiana Tech's best arms to their roster.
For Besser, a native of Berne, Indiana, the selection is a monumental moment. The Bananas have gained worldwide attention for their high-energy, fan-first brand of baseball, and being chosen to join their roster places Besser in a spotlight few college athletes ever experience.
Besser earned that opportunity with a dominant two-year career at Indiana Tech. As a Junior in 2024, he posted a 3.23 ERA over 14 starts, logging 86.1 innings and 110 strikeouts, along with five complete games and two shutouts. His competitiveness and ability to take over games were evident from day one.
In 2025, he continued to shine at the top of the rotation, turning in a 3.32 ERA through 13 appearances and 10 starts, while holding opponents to a .236 batting average. He added three more complete games, two more shutouts, and 81 strikeouts in 65 innings.
Across his Indiana Tech career, Besser compiled a 13–4 record, a 3.27 ERA, and 191 strikeouts, establishing himself as one of the program's most consistent and durable arms.
Now, he takes that talent to Banana Nation, where the energy is unmatched, the crowds are electric, and every game is a show. Being adopted by the Savannah Bananas isn't just a draft pick, it's an invitation into one of the most exciting baseball environments in the world. And Grant Besser is built for the moment.
