Women’s Lacrosse are Chosen as the Preseason Favorites in 2026 WHAC Poll

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team was chosen as the 2026 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Coaches Preseason Poll favorites, the conference announced Thursday.

Indiana Tech earned the top spot in the poll, receiving 34 points and four of the six first-place votes after finishing last season as WHAC Co-Champions and an appearance in the WHAC Tournament Championship game! The Warriors come in three points ahead of last year's WHAC Tournament Champions and regular season Co-Champions, Lawrence Tech University. The Blue Devils received the remaining two first-place votes. Marian University finished last year as regular season Co-Champions as well, ending the season in a three-way tie for first with the Warriors and Blue Devils, and received 25 points in this year's preseason poll, slotted in third.

The WHAC Preseason Poll is voted on by the league's head coaches. Points are tabulated by assigning six points to the team a coach ranks first, five points to a team a coach ranks second, and so on. The number of first-place votes indicates the number of coaches who ranked that team as the No. 1 team in the WHAC.
