FORT WAYNE, Ind. – 10 Indiana Tech baseball players earned First or Second Team All-Conference and two earned Gold Gloves, the WHAC announced on Tuesday.
Brycen Hannah,
Jack Ferguson,
Garrett Rainey,
Derek Ruiz,
Noah Redmon, and
Colton Leatherman were all named to the All-WHAC First Team.
Ben Morrison,
Keelan Dunkle,
Ben Hammond, and
Kaden Plank were named to the All-WHAC Second Team.
Brycen Hannah and
Austin Byford earned Gold Gloves, and
Danny May was the Champion of Character.
Brycen Hannah was the All-WHAC First Team selection at third base. This is second straight All-WHAC selection and his first First Team selection. Hannah is hitting .290 with nine home runs and 40 RBI. The nine home runs rank 4
th in the WHAC. He was also named to the Gold Glove Team for the first time in his career.
Jack Ferguson was the All-WHAC First Team selection at catcher, his first All-WHAC honor. Ferguson is hitting .377 with 13 home runs and 59 RBI. Ferguson has been one of the best hitters in the WHAC this season, ranking 2
nd in home runs, 2
nd in slugging percentage, 3
rd in RBI, 4
th in on-base percentage, and 5
th in total bases.
Garrett Rainey was one of four All-WHAC First Team outfield selections, his first All-WHAC selection. Rainey is hitting .376 on the season with 10 home runs, 53 RBI, and 12 stolen bases. He ranks 3
rd in the WHAC in home runs, fourth in runs scored, 4
th in RBI, 4
th in total bases, and 8
th in slugging percentage.
Derek Ruiz was named as the All-WHAC First Team designated hitter in his first year as a Warrior. Ruiz is hitting .363 with 45 RBI, 46 runs scored, and 19 stolen bases. Ruiz is 7
th in the WHAC in hits, 8
th in stolen bases, and 9
th in RBI.
Noah Redmon was one of four All-WHAC First Team starting pitchers, his second consecutive All-WHAC selection and his first First Team selection. Redmon has made 12 appearances, going 7-0 with a 3.61 ERA. He ranks 2
nd in the WHAC strikeouts, 3
rd in wins, and 5
th in ERA.
Colton Leatherman was the All-WHAC First Team selection at relief pitcher, his second consecutive All-WHAC honor and his first First-Team selection. In 17 appearances, Leatherman is 2-0 with a 3.74 ERA with nine saves. The nine saves rank first in the WHAC and the 17 appearances rank fifth.
Ben Morrison was the All-WHAC Second Team selection at first base, his second consecutive All-WHAC selection. He is hitting .329 with four home runs and 41 RBI with 12 stolen bases. Morrison ranked 2
nd in the WHAC in walks, sixth in runs scored, 12
th in on-base percentage, and 13
th in RBI.
Keelan Dunkle was the All-WHAC Second Team selection at shortstop, his first All-WHAC selection. He is hitting .281 with three home runs, 36 RBI and 16 stolen bases. Dunkle is 13
th in the WHAC in stolen bases and 18
th in runs scored.
Ben Hammond was one of four starting pitchers named to the All-WHAC Second Team. Hammond has made eight appearances, going 5-1 with a 1.84 ERA. He has struck out 23 batters in 29.1 innings. He is fourth in the WHAC with a .158 batting average against.
Kaden Plank was the lone reliever named to the All-WHAC Second Team. In 14 appearances, Plank is 6-1 with a 2.13 ERA. He has struck out 40 batters in 42.1 innings pitched.
Austin Byford was named as the starting pitcher Gold Glove recipient. Byford had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in his nine appearances.
Danny May was named a Champion of Character recipient.
