Morgan Macek, and
Savannah Bravo were named Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Players of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Michelle Farrell won her second player of the week honor this season, being named WHAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. The Auckland, New Zealand product had a strong week helping the Warriors split a pair of road games against top five teams. She had 11 goals and 1 assist in the week with a huge 8 goal game against #5 Keiser. The junior also had 5 ground balls, 4 draw controls, and 1 caused turnover over the two games. Farrell now has one offensive and one defensive pow award this season.
Tech softball had a good week in conference action last week, sweeping both the player and pitcher of the week awards.
Morgan Macek earns the first WHAC Softball Player of the Week honor of her young career after being perfect at the plate over two games against Defiance as Tech's leadoff hitter. She reached base in all 8 plate appearances, going 4 for 4 and drawing 4 walks for a perfect 1.000 .avg, .obp, and .slg. She also registered 3 runs scored, 1 RBI, and 1 stolen base.
Savannah Bravo continues her dominant senior campaign, winning her third WHAC Softball Pitcher of the Week honor of the season. She had another near perfect outing, throwing a complete game shutout in a 7-0 win over Defiance. The Arroyo Grande, California native had 7 strikeouts in 7 innings, allowing just 4 hits and posting a whip of .57.
Conference player of the week awards are released every Monday throughout the school year.
