Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 3 Ice Hockey team won its home opener 4-3 Friday night against Adrian College at the SportOne/Parkview IceHouse to improve to 5-1 overall.
It wasn't as easy as 1-2-3, but the Warriors jumped out quickly with a goal just 1:23 into the game and never looked back. Tech had a 2-0 lead before the game was five minutes old and went up 3-0 prior to the midpoint of the first period.
Eight different Warriors would factor in the scoring with just
Ryan Theisen registering a two-point night. Theisen added to his team-leading goal total with his seventh on the season.
Justin Richardson,
Connor Barney and
Nick Denice rounded out the scoring with the latter notching the unassisted game winner.
Drew Yeley,
Nick Janiszewski,
Nik Mensik and
Justin Burge all added helpers, while goaltender
Russell Smascz made 27 saves for the win.
Indiana Tech will head back to the road for a pair of weekend games Oct. 3-4 against Saginaw Valley State, both slated for an 8:30 p.m. start.
