FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech ACHA Division 3 men's ice hockey team fell to Saginaw Valley State, 3-1, on Friday night at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
The Warriors struggled to get their offense going against the Cardinals and found themselves in the penalty box all night long, tallying 11 penalties in all.
SVSU scored first at 15:41 in the first period as Trevor Bremer beat
Chris Boyd for the opening goal. The Cardinals would then add two more in the second, including one on a power play with just two seconds remaining in the period to take a 3-0 lead into the final 20 minutes of play.
Tech was unable to capitalize on 12 Cardinal penalties however, only converting one of their power plays at as
Jerret Haas cut the lead to two with 7:15 remaining in the game, but it would not be enough as Saginaw Valley State held on for the win.
Chris Boyd finished the night with 31 saves while the Orange and Black offense fired off 26 shots on the Cardinals.

Tech (7-5-0-0-0, 14 points) travels to Saginaw on Saturday for the second and final game of the series. Puck drop is set for 8:30 p.m. from Saginaw Bay Ice Arena.
