FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech ACHA Division 3 men's ice hockey team competed the weekend sweep of ACHA Division 2 opponent Eastern Illinois on Sunday with a dominating 8-1 win at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
The Warriors opened the game with three goals in the opening period and
Alex Wert supplied the first two goals and scored four altogether.
Eric Stewart added two goals just one day after notching his first career hat trick.
Jacob Fallis and
Austin Griffis each recorded three assists while
Nick Janiszewski added two assists and a goal.
Chris Boyd made 33 saves to pick up his eighth win of the season.
Connor Barney had a goal and an assist while
Jerret Haas and
Eric Stewart also tallied assists.
Tech (10-9-1-0) heads to Highland Park, Illinois next weekend for two games with Northwestern. Action will take place at Centennial Ice Arena starting at 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11:20 a.m. on Sunday.
