FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech ACHA Division 3 men's ice hockey team defeated Ball State, 8-2, on Friday evening at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
In just their second non-conference game of the season, the Warriors jumped all over the Cardinals in the opening period, tallying 18 shots on goal while scoring three times.
Hudson Sabin opened the scoring at 11:01 while
Brandon Gallo and
Conner Sharrett would each record a goal over the next 2:08 as the Orange and Black extended their lead to three goals.
Tech continued its offensive outburst in the second period with
Ryan Krolikowski and
Brendan Pfeiffer both lighting the lamp twice in the period while
Michael Cruse caped the Warrior scoring in the third period.
Chris Boyd made 19 saves in net for the hosts in the win.
Tech (4-9-0) returns to the ice on Saturday afternoon to conclude its weekend set with Ball State. Puck drop is set for 4:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
