FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech ACHA Division 3 men's ice hockey team won its third straight game on Friday evening at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse as they defeated Davenport, 5-1, in Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC) West action.
After a scoreless first period the offense would come alive in the second as Tech score three goals, with
Ryan Krolikowski notching the first just 32 seconds into the period before
Michael Cruse made it a 2-0 game just over three minutes later.
While the Panthers would cut the deficit in half with just under five minutes in the period, the Orange and Black would respond with a goal from
Christian Sandberg at the 17:19 mark to give Tech a 4-1 lead heading into the final period.
Another quick strike to begin the third, this time from
Jordan Reese just 59 seconds into the action, and a goal from
Jordan Pitlick at 3:06 and the rout was one for the Warriors as they handed the Panthers the 5-1 loss.
Chris Boyd and
Daniel Klaybor each made nine saves in net for the Warriors, with Boyd picking up the win.
Brandon Gallo, Jerrett Haas, Conor Barney,
Jacob Fallis,
Tyler Lantzsch, Sandberg and Pitlick would each pick up an assist.
Tech (6-9-0) heads north to Grand Rapids, Michigan on Saturday for their weekend finale against the Panthers. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. from Patterson Ice Center.
